Denim is a sturdy cotton twill fabric woven with indigo, gray, or mottled white yarns. Blue jeans, jackets, dresses, overalls, and more are all made from denim, one of the world's most well-known and commonly worn fabrics. The blue jean has been a symbol of classic Americana for almost a century.
HISTORY OF DENIM ?
Jeans made of denim were invented in the 1870s by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss, the same Levi who founded Levi's Jeans. His business partner Jacob Davis was the first to use copper rivets in men's denim and cotton duck cloth trousers to reinforce the weakest points. To make the trousers stronger, this technique was used. Davis and Levi Strauss & Co. were granted a patent on jeans on May 20, 1873.
